I am working on bringing the most up-to-date information on what Maine will be receiving, and what Yarmouth might receive, from the Economic Recovery Act. Stay tuned for updates…..Also, I would like to encourage folks to come up to Augusta and sit in on some of the committee meetings that occur every week day on subjects ranging from charging fees for plastic bags to banning canned hunting practices. Much of the work at the Statehouse is done in the 17 Joint Standing Committees, and there are ample opportunities for you, the Maine citizen, to be involved. Please contact me if you’d like more information on how to do it. The maine.gov site also has great information about how to testify at a public hearing. I often see some Yarmouth residents observing the committee I serve on, Natural Resources. You have a chance to bring your knowledge and experience to the committee members who are making important decisions every day about issues that affect Maine.
